There was a bit of time that had passed between her meeting with FERNANDO SILPH and GABRIEL BLACK before Melody got to see Elinor Anderson. [break][break]

However it wasn't the councilwoman's fault. Melody had found herself working overtime despite being injured because the league was in a state of disarray and chaos as the meteor was fast approaching. Melody knocked on the councilwoman's door at the appointed time, Melody's primarina sliding alongside her as the pokemon so often accompanied her. "Councilwoman Elinor? It's Melody miro." she said announcing herself to the woman. [break][break]

She hoped the meeting would give the answers she had wanted. If not, there was one person who could if she could find him. Amor Rose.

These were dire times indeed. The workload had never been bigger, and so Elinor frantically tried to keep up. For better or worse, she seemed to be doing just that. Attending every meeting possible, signing every paper necessary, and doing every document writing needed of her.

Yet even with all these Elinor kept an open door policy, quite literarily unless a phone call or a meeting necessitated its closure. And so when Melody Miro announced her arrival, it was not a sigh that escaped Elinor, but a smile of enthusiasm as she looked up from the current documents she had been working on. This would be her first time speaking one on one with the Elite Four member.

But she wasn’t alone in her office. Since she loathed the shackles of proper security personnel, she had foregone it in favor of one of her own Pokémon. The Bright lime-green and pink Kommo-o had been alerted at the sound of Melody’s voice. Head raising from its otherwise curled up position on a pillow in the corner of the office.

Elinor quickly gestured reassuringly toward the Pokémon, and it laid its head back down. “Oh Hello there. Come on in.” Elinor gestured towards Melody, not only for her to come in, but to take a seat as well.

“What can I help you with today?”

She smiles when she enters the room, glad that it seemed like the women of the council were the friendliest as she really enjoyed PENELOPE LIVY 's company. [break][break]

Primarina slides into the room too, putting her hands in the air to announce her presence in a typical performer's greeting. Waving wildly at the Kommo-o that rested in the woman's office without the slightest hint of animosity. Primarina was one of her goofiest Pokémon. "Hello Miss Anderson! I was wondering if you had some time to speak about a recent situation that transpired? I'm trying to hunt down information and would really like to ask you a couple of questions." she says as she walked over to the woman's desk, her arm's tucked behind her back with her hands wrapped around each other. Her bandages were still visible though as Melody still hadn't fully recovered from her fight with the duraludon.

If she hadn’t already been smiling, the sliding entrance of the Primarina would’ve certainly put a smile on her face. But her eyes didn’t stay on Melody’s Pokémon companion for long, instead, they moved to the trainer.

“Sure I have time,” Elinor stated calmly. For a moment she wondered what situation had transpired, but then through the pile of information she had been working through for the day, her memory was jolted. Oh right… “And I hope I will be able to help.” Her words were honest, as she tried to remember the details of what she had heard about these recent happenings.

“Before we begin, can I offer you anything to drink, Tea, Coffee, Water, something else entirely?” She figured this would be the kind of meeting that would do good with some liquid supplements.

"I wont try to waste too much of your time and will just jump right into the thick of it." she tells her as Melody crosses her leg in her seat and straightened her back, her unease surely being easy to spot. "Recently, I found out Amor Rose had access to information that should have been privy to only the council, matias, dahlia and myself. Did you tell him that information?" she asked very directly as Melody's primarina stared at Melody, why the fuck did she bring her here for this shit? Primarina hated serious conversations. "That information being leaked resulted in the bandages on my body you see now. He attacked me over it."

Elinor gave a courteous nod and watched as Melody would take the offered seat.

While the friendly smile didn’t disappear, it lessened as her face grew almost saddened as the turn of events was relayed to her, as well as the reasons for Melody’s visit.

Elinor noticed the unease with which Melody appeared. This was a touchy subject for her. And so Elinor leaned back into her seat, arms crossed and gaze serious but understanding. “I applaud your directness even if it is with consideration for my time. Though I have to ask, what makes you think I would reply in earnest if I had? Unless Raziel Beckett is hiding outside the door there is naught stopping me from lying.” Elinor took a moment to breathe.

“But to answer your question. I did not.” Elinor spoke. “However, I believe you deserve an elaboration on my answer.” She paused once again. “I have had contact with Mister Amor Rose. I figured his resources and technological savvy, would do The League good if we could get him back into the fold.” She paused, a brief glimpse of disappointment in her eyes “Though I have had less success with that than I’d like to admit. But that’s not the important part -”

“- When I first met him he was already well aware of information he should not have. Of course, I questioned him on how he came upon this information and he claimed that he had installed cameras in the area, though I will admit I did not verify that claim. But considering he kept trying to pry me for more detailed information I did not see any reason to think such claims a lie. And before you ask, I did not oblige him with any details.”

Her eyes tried to meet with Melody, it was obvious she felt bad about the state the Elite Four was in. “But seeing what happened afterward, perhaps I should have. At the very least he would have had no reason to do what he did.”

She pauses, absorbing Elinor's statement in it's entirety. "It's true. Razz probably could tell if you were lying, unforunately I don't want to rely on others for this." she says sighing. "He is not here." [break][break]

"Quite frankly, I had been hoping one of you said yes. I'd have forgiven you guys if someone told me the truth because well. Just like I told Amor Rose . I prefer an honest sinner who made a mistake instead of a righteous liar hiding away." she said scratching the back of her head. Maybe FERNANDO SILPH 's theory of Melody being the unintentional leaker was right. [break][break]

"He doesn't have cameras. When I pressed him for details to verify if it was true or not, he couldn't answer." She didn't really think skyler dross or angelo vestri of all people who she told herself would have shared it with a pretentious asshole..[break][break]

"Well. Now that all three of you have said you didn't do it. My only real avenue to pursue the truth is to go after Amor and his Butler who's always with him too." she replies "I had hoped it wouldn't come to this but I'm out of options. Justice needs to be served, Cobalion is demanding it. When he slammed me into the wall of my concert hall, he put my Pokémon in danger, he also endangered the lives of the civilians in attendance and their Pokémon as well." [break][break]

"Or whatever you, the council, and dahlia goode decide. She seemed upset when we texted about it."

Elinor looked thoughtful, she did not give a verbal reply. Though she found herself agreeing with Melody’s preference between an Honest Sinner and a Righteous Liar, in truth she wanted neither.

Visible annoyance appeared when Melody proclaimed that there were no cameras. Elinor did not like being lied to, though perhaps the fault lay with her for not checking the veracity of Amor’s claim.

Though the slight against her Ego was unimportant compared to the words that Melody spoke afterward. Annoyance was switched out in favor of thoughtfulness as she listened.

“I agree he must answer for his crimes. One thing is attacking you, you at least have the capability to return the favor tenfold, which I hope you did. But to endanger the lives of civilians and their Pokémon, that is an inexcusable crime.” Elinor spoke as the professionalism in her tone occupied what space there was for emotions. For doing so, Amor was no better than one of those Villanous ULTRA BEASTS that appeared from the WORMHOLES leading to ULTRA SPACE.

“I will admit I know woefully little about the sort of Justice that Cobalion demands. I am sure his approach to the subject is more direct.” Elinor paused, considering her words carefully. “But I can’t help but feel compelled to advise against going after Mr. Rose personally right now. Firstly, if by some miracle he defeats you and puts you out of commission by doing so, that would be a huge loss to The League at this time. –“ She took a moment to breathe. Her gaze had grown stern.

“And secondly. The public perception of The League isn’t exactly at its most positive. Should it come to light that an Elite Four member partakes in vigilantism then I fear we would lose what little trust the people of Hoenn already have in us… And I am sure I need not tell you that Team Rocket would celebrate that.”

“If I were you, which I am well aware that I am not, then If you want Mr. Rose to be put to justice, do it the proper way. Abide by the laws of this land go to the Police, and drag him through court.” And now she waited for Melody’s reaction. She hoped Melody would be wise enough to see the wisdom of her words. But she feared that the temptation of being judge, jury, and executioner herself might be too tempting.

She smiles a bit as Elinor speaks as Melody was glad to see someone had common sense at least. "You're right. It would be bad for me to go after Amor. It would also be foolish for me to go after him even when the meteor has passed. FERNANDO SILPH suggested as much as well."[break][break]

But when she mentions the vigilantism she raises an eyebrow. "Wait, so Kazimir Wynter can be a vigilante but I cannot enact my own justice? That seems unfair does it not?" she says in a rather critical tone.

"Regardless, I agree with you. It's not within my realm as an Elite 4 to dish out punishment as I see fit." She explains "But, Cobalion may have once allowed us to use the laws of our land, I'm afraid he isn't satisfied with how the situation with MATIAS SILPH played out where I emphasized to him obeying our laws." [break][break]

she frowns as Melody hoped Elinor would at least see the position Melody is coming from. "So he understands the meteor takes priority, but once that threat passes...he will force my hand, Miss Elinor and I must act or risk losing another loved one."

It seemed Melody was wise enough to see where Elinor was coming from. It was this willingness that allowed for an understanding look to manifest when Melody noted the unfairness of the vigilantism privilege between her and Kazimir Wynter. Had Melody not moved the topic, then Elinor would’ve had to proclaim her opinion on that matter as well. And it wouldn’t have been a favorable opinion for Kazimir.

But alas Melody brought to light a problem. “Hmmm. That is quite the dilemma. Losing Cobalion, while I am sure it would be terrible for you, will definitely also be a huge loss to The League.” Elinor spoke. “Alas, I wish I had a satisfying magical answer to that problem. But, as a member of the council, I can’t condone taking matters into your own hands.”

And then Elinor was lost in thought as she tried to word her next question.

“I apologize in advance because this question will sound insensitive, and that is not my intention, but right now I can’t think of another way to word it less so.” Elinor prefaced what was to come.

“Why is Cobalion so fixated on bringing Mr. Rose to justice that he would even force your hand on the matter when there’s an entire organization of evildoers running around that he could be hunting? Surely taking down the bigger evil would take priority over a single individual such as Mr. Rose?” Unless of course Cobalion’s justice was biased. And if that was the case, was it then truly justice? While she thought it, she didn’t voice that particular part.

Elinor's question was fair, why was Cobalion so insistent on hunting down specific individuals? Well the answer was simple really. "It's because he's seen them do it in front of his eyes. Guess your innocent till proven guilty? I'm not sure." she shrugs as Melody knew her answer wasn't going to be that satisfying to the council woman. [break][break]

She shifts her weight from her left leg to her right leg, even swinging her legs around as she crossed them in the opposite direction. "Well honestly, he hates any human. Despises them even. There are only a few exceptions. Children like Eris Halla and Hideo Kino , then people like Eva Morales are prime examples. Myself included obviously."she comments. [break][break]

"Josh Devlin actually told me a really interesting story he learned from the unovan legend of the swords of justice...not sure if it's something similar to my own Cobalion's story or not...or hell if he's even from unova." she says cracking a small chuckle. [break][break]

"But to summarize it, human war caused a great deal of pain to Pokémon in a forest, and it was the swords of justice who put an end to the war themselves and rescued all the Pokémon caught in the cross fire. I guess because of that, he only acts when he sees a Pokémon harmed. He also I guess understands not everyone in a faction has the same morals. There are people in rocket who are kind and those in the league who are prime examples of a psychopath." she says as she recalls some of her interactions with some of those who visited her during her time in the submarine.[break][break]

She pauses wondering if it was worth sharing with Elinor as she barely mentioned it in the aqua meeting. "His contingency for working with me... Bring those who harm Pokémon to justice, regardless of affiliation. If I act in opposition to that, he will leave. Regardless of how close we are."

So it’s Cobalion’s own powerlessness that compels it.

Elinor could think of no other reason why a Pokémon like Cobalion would be so single-minded as to blind itself to the evils of all that it had not seen. Sure innocent until proven guilty was a kind sentiment but it didn’t quite match with how Melody spoke of Cobalion’s dislike for humans in general. But perhaps that simply meant Cobalion didn’t paint its justice in such black-and-white colors.

Though her thoughts churned she listened attentively to Melody’s words. Only making slight movements to readjust her position in the chair. She couldn’t help but look slightly surprised as Josh Devlin was mentioned. She hadn’t quite realized that he had made friends with members of the Elite Four already, though as she thought about it. It made even less sense that he WOULDN’T have by now. Well, that was a matter for another conversation.

Before long Melody gave the word back to Elinor, having now explained the contingency for working with Cobalion. “That is quite the contingency. But one that makes sense. Hmmm.” Elinor commented.

“Losing Cobalion would definitely do us no good. But I have given you my advice I can’t condone vigilantism, do this the proper way.” She spoke, with immeasurable seriousness in her eyes as she gazed at Melody. “But with that said. I am not omniscient and as far as I know, neither are my fellow members of the council nor our dear commissioner. So if Cobalion were to find a way to deliver justice in a way that would not be noticed by us or the public…” She made a hand-wavey gesture.

“Well, we wouldn’t really know anything about that, would we?” She sent Melody a knowing look, as she wondered if this would be enough to appease Melody’s, and perhaps more importantly, Cobalion’s lust for justice.

"Elinor!" she says in a surprised tone with a small grin on her face. "You're sly aren't you?" she says laughing a bit to herself as she had caught on what the councilwoman hinted at. "Very well, thank you for your advice miss anderson. I will try to give a little as well, I wont go hunting down amor myself. But if Cobalion sees him I doubt there is very little I could do to stop him." she says trying to put the woman at ease. [break][break]

"Thank you for at least trying to understand my predicament. It's more than some of your colleagues." she says being genuine with her thanks. She stands up as Primarina raises her self to alert as well. "Well. That's all for now I suppose, thank you for your time councilwoman. If you ever need help with anything, feel free to call upon me. I'll be waiting." she said giving Elinor one more warm smile before she'd pause waiting to see if Elinor had anything else to say and if not she'd leave the room.

It seemed Melody was quick to catch on, from the surprised tone to the statement of slyness. Elinor merely sent her a knowing smile. Well, she liked to think of herself as sly.

Melody’s reassurances did put Elinor at ease. Though it probably wasn’t visible as she would already seem pretty at ease after Melody’s previous comments.

“While it saddens me to hear that my colleagues weren’t as understanding. I am glad that I could at least be of some service.” Elinor stated. It seemed their meeting was reaching its natural conclusion. “Oh no need to thank me. I am here to serve in whatever capacity I can.” Elinor spoke as her eyes followed Melody into her standing position.

“I will remember that, and extend the same offer of help to you. My door is always open, don’t be a stranger.” Elinor spoke, she would even give Melody a kind farewell when she left. The Kommo-o would do the same even though it had stayed quiet and immobile for most of the meeting.
